Google has announced that it is offering a free version of Google Meet to all the consumers during the ongoing pandemic. The initiative has been taken in competition with Zoom, which is widely being used these days for personal and professional video calls.
Up to 100 participants can gather on a call at once at Google Meet. In addition to this, it also offers features including screen sharing, real-time captioning, and scheduling.
To avail of the free version of Google Meet, you will be required to create a Google account.
You can avail free version of Google Meet from early May. The tool will be suitable for both iOS and Android.
You will have to sign up first. Visit the Google Meet Page to sign up for free. You will be asked to enter your name, email, country, and the primary purpose to use Google Meet (such as personal, business, government, or education). After that, agree to the terms of service and tap ‘Submit’. You will receive a confirmation notification.
Here are the steps to use Google Meet for free.
- Visit meet.google.com. Or, open the application on iOS or Android. Or, you can also begin a meeting from Google Calendar.
- Click on ‘Start new meeting’. Or, you can also enter your meeting code.
- Select the Google account you want to use
- After that, click Join meeting. You can also add others to your video meeting.
