The deployment underscores Facebook’s attempt to fill gaps in local news coverage, if sometimes gaps that it created by speeding the death of local newspapers.
News related to the pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests and the looming US presidential election make access to almost every single person out there. However, it’s still not clear if Facebook will offer an alluring take on that news, but there’s undoubtedly a large potential audience.
Moreover, It was announced that users can now transfer your photos and videos from Facebook to Google’s most popular photo app.
The tool was initially introduced in Europe in December, but the company has now announced that it is available to every user.
This data portability feature allows users to transfer a copy of their photos directly from Facebook to Google’s photo storage service encrypted.
It is not necessary to download and upload this data manually to Google Photos.
Instead, Facebook users can transfer this data by clicking ‘Transfer A Copy of Your Photos and Videos in Your Facebook Information’ in the Settings menu.
This is the same menu that has long allowed users to download copies of various data related to the company’s services.
However, the process of transferring photos to Google Photos has been made much easier.
