PTA blocks Bigo Video App, warns TikTok
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked video application Bigo and warned TikTok...
Peshawar citizens filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to impose strict censorship on TikTok and other video sharing apps that share indecent and vulgar content.
In his petition, Asmat Asim stated,
“Our society doesn’t permit whatever is going on TikTok where people upload objectionable videos, peddling vulgarity. Deaths by suicide have increased due to the app.”
The petitioner urged the high court to command the higher authorities to block immoral and indecent content on TikTok as soon as possible.
Earlier, a petition by Advocate Nadeem Sarwar was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) to ban the video-sharing app TikTok from Pakistan as it is turning disastrous for the youngsters. The petition also stated that the application is just not wasting time but also promoting vulgarity among people.
It should be mentioned here, in July, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had warned TikTok about “obscene” material. According to details, various complaints were registered against TikTok for spreading vulgarity and immorality against society.
