WhatsApp has been working on numerous exciting and useful features for a very long time.
As per reports, the messaging app is working on features including the auto-archive chats and has brought back its popular vacation mode in the latest Android beta update.
All the features are currently under development and WhatsApp will roll them out officially only when it is free of bugs.
As per Wabetainfo, after shelving the vacation mode a couple of weeks ago, WhatsApp has started working on the feature again.
“WhatsApp has decided to implement the Vacation Mode again, under a new form! There will be a new dedicated section for the Vacation Mode, that allows choosing different parameters. When the new feature will be enabled, Archived chats will be moved to the top of your chats list,” the report read.
The Vacation mode feature that WhatsApp seems to be working on for over a year now will allow users to mute notifications from archived chats.
However, in the latest update, it found that WhatsApp will give two options to users to deal with their archived chats. The Notify New Messages and Auto Hide inactive chats option.
The first option if enabled will let the users know about the messages from the archived chats but if the second option enables, the messaging-app will hide chats that have been inactive for six months.
Currently, WhatsApp lets users archive chats but whenever there is a message from any of the archived chats, it appears at the top in the chat window.
However, WhatsApp had stopped working on this feature earlier in August but now it will hopefully make the feature available to all users.
Apart from this, WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a feature that would allow users to mute their groups forever. It also has plans to remove the one year option with the forever option.
