The 73rd Founding Day of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government is being marked on Saturday (today).
The day is being observed with simplicity to minimize the spread of coronavirus pandemic. A public holiday is being observed throughout the state.
According to Kashmir media service, the day is being marked with a renewed pledge to continue the struggle until the liberation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and accession of the whole territory to Pakistan.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider Khan, has called upon the United Nations to play its leading role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute by implementing its resolutions for establishing durable and everlasting peace in the region.
He said in a message that India’s expansionist designs have not only jeopardized the peace of the entire region but could trigger another human tragedy.
He said the main objective behind the establishment of the Azad Kashmir government was the liberation of IIOJK from India.
Twitter users are also remembering the day while making the hashtag #24Oct_AJKFoundationDay a trend.
There’s no greater painful story than Azad Kashmir and Indian occupied Kashmir. We are divided by borders but pain, agony and longing is what unites us. Without each other we are incomplete. #24Oct_AJKFoundationDay pic.twitter.com/QwPxoZPC4i
