President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey aims to achieve its first visit to Moon by the year 2023.

President of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan said in his statement that,

“Our first goal is to land on the moon by 2023, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, I believe Turkish engineers will manage to carry out this mission,”

Erdogan Further said “Turkey aims to achieve its goal with the international cooperation,”

“Turkey’s second goal is to create a global brand that would compete in the field of next-generation satellite development,” he said.

Erdogan further added to his statement that,

“The integration of our domestically-developed high-resolution earth observation satellite is complete,” he added, touching upon Turkey’s efforts to develop its indigenous satellites.

Earlier, Turkey launched reconnaissance and communication satellites set up a satellite systems integration and test center, and made a domestic HD satellite called IMECE which is predictable to be launched in 2022.

“Our feet will be on earth but our eyes will be in space. Our roots will be on earth, our branches will be up in the sky,” Erdogan said.
