Facebook’s Oversight Board has delayed the decision about ex-president Donald Trump’s possible return to Facebook and Instagram.

The decision was due to be taken by April 21. The Board has said that the decision has been delayed because of the time it has taken to review 9,000 public responses to cases.

The board has said that decision would be made “in the coming weeks”.

Former President Donald Trump’s Facebook account was suspended in January after the Capitol Hill Riots. Several technology platforms acted after the riots in which five people had died and more than 100 police officers were wounded. Trump was accused of inciting violence and spreading false information. He was suspended from YouTube as well and Twitter has permanently banned him.

The Oversight Board was established to rule on difficult or controversial moderation decisions taken by Facebook. It is also referred to as “Facebook’s Supreme Court” and includes f journalists, human rights activists, lawyers, and academics.
