Traveling without a charger is an iPhone user’s worst nightmare. Even if you’re in the middle of a crowded room, not everyone will have an iPhone charger.

A USB Type-C charger is more likely to be carried by four out of ten people. However, if you have an iPhone, you won’t be able to use it because your iPhone has a Lightning port rather than a USB Type-C port.

And it’s at this point that you wish your iPhone had a USB Type-C port rather than a charging port. Some of the requests may finally be considered by Apple.

Apple is said to be testing iPhones with USB Type-C connectors rather than lighting ports.

Future iPhones may abandon the lighting port in favor of a USB Type-C port, according to an International news publication. Apple, on the other hand, does not intend to make the changeover until at least 2023.

The standard lighting port will be present on the next iPhone 14 series. There have been numerous reports that Apple will convert to USB Type-C ports.

Ming Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst, previously anticipated that the iPhone 15 models would include USB Type-C connections.

The rumor is plausible because Apple has begun to employ USB Type-C connections in iPads, making the charging method appear to be within Apple’s ecosystem.

Apple, on the other hand, does not appear to be embracing USB Type-C connections to make things easier for consumers, though the corporation may be intending to do so in the future due to legal obligations in Europe.

According to reports, European regulation has required Apple to include a USB-C port on all iPhones, iPads, and AirPods sold in the country.

Not only for Apple, but for all smartphone makers selling smartphones in Europe, all new devices must have a USB Type-C port.

Tablets, laptops, digital cameras, headphones, and other electronic devices have also been urged to integrate USB ports.

While most Android phones have USB Type-C connections, the new regulation will have a significant impact on Apple.

“Under the new guidelines, users will no longer need to buy a new charger and cable every time they buy a new item, and will be able to charge all of their small and medium-sized electronic devices using the same charger.”

In a statement, the Market and Consumer Protection Committee stated that “all mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones and headsets, handheld video game consoles, and portable speakers rechargeable through a wired cable must be fitted with a USB Type-C port, regardless of manufacturer.”
