Motorola has released cheaper G series smartphones for the masses soon after selling the Moto G82 over the world. For the time being, the Moto G62 5G and G42 have just launched in Brazil, and the company has yet to disclose pricing, but based on the specifications, these phones should cost approximately $300 or less.

Aside from the chipset and display, the Moto G42 and G52 5G are nearly identical.

Design and Display

In terms of design, the two phones are practically identical. Both phones have a punch-hole front camera, a thick bottom bezel, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and three cameras on the back. The G62 5G sports a slightly larger 6.5-inch IPS LCD with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Moto G42 has a smaller 6.4-inch screen and opts for an OLED panel over a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a 1080p resolution as well.

Another significant variation is found in the chipsets of the phones. The Snapdragon 480+ 5G SoC is used in the Moto G62 5G, however the Snapdragon 680 is used in the G42. Both include a 4GB/128GB base memory configuration and a microSD card slot for expansion.

The two phones come pre-installed with Android 12 and MyUX.

The Moto G62 5G and G42 both have identical camera system, including a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. This camera can record video in 1080p resolution.
