Google has revealed the extension of generative AI in search to over 120 additional countries and territories, marking the most extensive international expansion for the Search Generative Experience (SGE) to date.

Initially exclusive to the US, the Search Generative Experience (SGE) recently expanded to include India and Japan. Now, it has reached numerous other locations, such as Mexico, Brazil, South Korea, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. You can find the complete list of countries and territories here.

Currently, in the newly added countries, you can activate SGE on the Chrome desktop by navigating to Search Labs. In the next week, access will also be extended through the Google app on both Android and iOS.

To commemorate the expansion, Google has introduced four additional languages for all SGE users: Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Indonesian.

Furthermore, you have the ability to pose follow-up questions directly from the search results page. As you delve deeper into a topic, your previous questions and search results, including search ads, will be visible in designated ad slots on the page. This update will be gradually introduced over the next few weeks, initially in English in the US.

In the near future, when you request SGE to translate a phrase with words that have multiple meanings, you’ll notice those terms highlighted. By tapping on any of these words, you can specify the particular meaning you intend. This AI-driven translation feature will debut in the US initially, focusing on English-to-Spanish translations, with plans to support more countries and languages in the future.
