Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phones may dominate the foldable phone market, but they’ve always been criticized for the prominent display crease. However, this issue may be resolved with the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Expected to launch alongside the Z Fold 6 in July this year, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is rumored to feature a thicker Ultra Thin Glass (UTG). This enhancement is anticipated to reduce the display crease at the center, allowing Samsung to better compete with rivals who have managed smaller display creases.

The reduced crease size will be solely attributed to the new, thicker UTG, as the new hinge design won’t contribute to this improvement. Although the crease won’t vanish entirely, it will be significantly smaller.

Reports indicate that the Flip 6’s UTG will measure about 50μm in thickness, up from the Flip 5’s 30μm. Moreover, next year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to introduce a new hinge design that will further diminish the crease.

Regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 6, rumors suggest the addition of new models, including a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra and a Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE. The FE model is expected to be a more affordable version of the regular Z Fold 6, while the Ultra will feature top-of-the-line specifications.

If the rumor holds, we can expect the Z Fold 6 Ultra to come with an eye-watering price tag that likely nears the $2000 mark.
