Apple has released a developer beta for iOS 18.2, introducing a suite of features that enhance both functionality and customization for users.

In addition to AI-powered tools like Gemmoji, Image Playground, and ChatGPT integration, iOS 18.2 now allows users to change default apps beyond the current limits on email and browser selections. This latest version adds options to set preferred apps for messaging, calling, call filtering, and web browsing, all accessible through a new “Default Apps” menu in the Settings.

Under “Manage your default apps for iPhone,” users can now select app preferences not only for communications but also for tasks like contactless payments, autofill for passwords and codes, and text input. The new path to these settings is located in Settings > Apps > Default Apps on iOS 18.2, marking a significant step toward more user control on the iPhone.

Currently, this enhanced functionality is available exclusively to developer beta users, with a wider public release expected soon as Apple fine-tunes the feature through user feedback.
