WhatsApp has launched chat themes, allowing users to customise their conversations with different colours for chat bubbles and backgrounds.

The messaging platform is also adding 30 new wallpaper options, giving users more ways to personalise their chat experience. Users can choose from preset themes that change both chat bubbles and backgrounds or mix and match colours to create unique designs.

A key feature of this update is the ability to set a unified theme across all chats or customise individual conversations with different themes. However, these changes are only visible to the user who applies them, ensuring that personal preferences don’t affect other participants in the chat.

To apply a default theme across all chats, go to Settings ➝ Chats ➝ Default chat theme. For individual chat customisation, tap the chat name at the top of the screen.

WhatsApp has confirmed that the new chat themes are rolling out gradually and will be available to all users soon. This update enhances the platform’s personalisation features, making conversations more engaging and visually appealing.
