WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature allowing users to link their social media profiles directly to their accounts, making cross-platform access more convenient.

Initially available to selected beta testers, this update aimed to simplify social media integration within the messaging app. Users could add their social media usernames, which would then appear as a clickable link at the top of the chat info page.

At launch, only Instagram profiles could be linked, but reports suggested that more platforms might be supported in future updates.

To protect user privacy, WhatsApp introduced visibility controls, letting users choose whether their social media links would be visible to everyone or only their contacts. Those who preferred to keep their profiles private could simply opt out of linking their accounts.

This feature was designed to make it easier for users to share their profiles seamlessly without switching between different apps.
