Pakistan Customs has officially announced updated custom values for Apple iPhones, including the latest iPhone 16 and 15 models, with prices starting at Rs168,000 and going beyond Rs400,000 for high-end variants.

The changes come under Valuation Ruling 1909 of 2025, issued by the Directorate General (DG) Customs Valuation, and apply to over 180 iPhone models.

According to the new valuation, importing the 128GB iPhone 16 now requires paying around Rs186,000 in customs duties, while the highest-end model, the 1TB iPhone 16 Pro Max, carries a duty of over Rs412,000.

The update also introduces new categories for the iPhone 16 series and applies depreciation to older iPhones, reducing their assessed value since they are no longer on par with current market pricing. These changes affect how much individuals will pay when legally bringing iPhones and other premium devices into the country.

The revision in customs valuation came after requests from customs officials in Islamabad and other stakeholders who pointed out that the previous rule, over a year old, no longer reflected current market prices. In response, the Directorate General held multiple meetings with industry experts and reviewed 90 days of import data along with supporting documents.

It was noted that some older iPhone models required depreciation adjustments due to their outdated status. This updated valuation is aimed at aligning import duties more closely with global market trends, and is expected to affect both the pricing and volume of iPhone imports in Pakistan.
