
Zozibini Tunzi won the title of Miss Universe 2019. The newly-crowned Zozibini is a black woman and she belongs to South Africa.
The pageant was held in Atlanta in the US on Sunday. Over 90 women from all around the world participated in the contest.
Zozibini is the first black woman to have miss universe crown after Leila Lopes, who had won in 2011.
She is called ‘a pure advocate of natural beauty’”. She had also won Miss South Asia in August.
Zozibini shares her joy on her Instagram by posting her photo with the crown. She wrote the caption, “tonight a door was opened and I could not be more grateful to have been the one walked through it.”
She also said, “I proudly state my name Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe 2019!”

The news got viral on social media, as people praise the fact that a woman with a black skin tone beat others.
26-year-old Zozibini defeated Mexico’s Sofia Aragon and Puerto Rico’s Madison Anderson on the final round.
In the final round, she was asked what she wants to teach the young girls today. She said she will teach leadership.
She said, “It’s something that has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time-not because we don’t want to, but because of what society has labeled women to be.”
