Seven microphones used by Korean Pop band BTS have been sold at a pre-Grammy Awards auction.

The autographed microphones were sold for US$83,200 for charity purposes.

Julien’s auctions said that the prices were eight times more than predicted.

Julien also said that the microphones were the first things presented from BTS.

The auction had assumed the estimated price between US$ 10,000 and 20,000.

BTS had used those microphones in 2017-19 on the band’s Love Yourself tour.

The purpose of organizing auction was to benefit Recording Academy’s charitable arm, Musicares.

Other things were sold from Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Aerosmith, and Pete Townsend and so on.

Earlier in November, The Melon Music Awards 2019 (MMA 2019) was held at domed baseball stadium Gocheok Sky Dome where South Korean boy band BTS swept all four grand prizes of the night with Artist of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year with “Map of the Soul: Persona,” and Song of the Year with “Boy With Luv.”

BTS Army was so exultant to see their superstar winning all the top category awards and they turned the award ceremony into BTS concert by waving flashlights.

On the occasion, the lead rapper of the band Kim Namjoon AKA Rap Monster told the audience about the BTS journey and said: “We’re just 7 normal boys from Korea, who share one dream.”
