London’s first LGBT+ Muslim Pride festival is going to happen on 11th April 2020.

Tickets for the LGBT+ Muslim festival named IMAAN ranges from £5 for those on lower-incomes to £20.

Tickets include lunch, dinner, sessions, panels and evening entertainment.

Officials stated, “We as LGBTQI Muslims often find ourselves isolated, without community and frequently facing homophobic, biphobic, transphobic AND Islamaphobic abuse,”

“The event will build on the incredible events we organized in the past and feature panels, discussions, speakers, arts, culture, and history – a first for LGBTQI Muslims.”

British-Iraqi writer Amrou Al-Kadhi mentioned in a press release, “The media has tried to control the narrative about queer Islamic identities for too long, often thrusting us into a horrific culture war, as if Islam is the mortal enemy of queer identity.”

“ImaanFest, Muslim Pride is the perfect counter-narrative, reveling in the joys of queer Muslim identities, and giving us the chance to make our own space.”

“LGBTQIA+ Muslims are as beautiful and naturally occurring as the rainbow that represents us.”

Panels and sessions will be held in the Imaan fest. The discussions will feature special queer Muslim guests such as

American bisexual Muslim activist Blair Imani, queer British-Iraqi writer Amrou Al-Kadhi and trans activist & star of an international news firm Asifa Lahore.
