A snow moon will appear tonight at 7 pm. it will not influence weather conditions.
The name ‘snow moon’ is famous because February is known for heavy snowfall in several states.
The second full moon of the winter season will be bright and shiny in the sky tonight. Some people refer to it as ‘Super moon’ as the celestial body’s orbit will bring it near to earth. This will cause the moon to appear brighter than the normal as natural light will be more visible.
Experts predict that the snow moon will be visible from 8 pm tonight and will be visible all night long. It will be a perfect time to stare at the sky all night.
The moon will be seen largest when it is nearest to the horizon.
Experts say that this year, there will be 13 full moons, snow moon will be the fourth brightest. It will also be the fourth nearest.
An international website states that super moon happens when “when the center of the Moon is less than 223,694 miles from the center of Earth.” Experts also say that tonight’s moon will be 225,234 miles far.
Earlier, Pakistan witnessed the first lunar eclipse of the year 2020 on night between January 10 and January 11.
It was penumbral lunar eclipse which Pakistan witnessed as well as in different cities of Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa.
It was not visible in the United States, central Canada and a majority of South America.
A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and the Moon are imperfectly aligned. When this happens, the Earth blocks some of the Sun’s light from directly reaching the Moon’s surface.
