Sitara: Let Girls Dream, has made its way to Netflix successfully.

Sitara is a short animated film that is written and directed by the two-time Academy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

The film features a young girl named Pari, who dreams of becoming a pilot. However, the movie also shows the complexities and stereotypes of society the teenage faces after she expresses her dream to people.

Sitara has got huge success internationally; it had won three awards at the Los Angeles Animation Festival 2019 in North Hollywood in December 2019. The awards of the best-Produced screenplay, best music score, and the Humanitarian Award were given to the movie.

Grammy and Emmy Award-Winning composer Laura Karpman has composed the music for Sitara. It is produced by VICE studios. Executive producers of the film include Gloria Steinem, Darla Anderson, VICE Media Group’s CEO Nancy Dubuc, and Waadi Animations. Imke Fehrmann served as the producer of the movie.

The thoughtful song was released with the title Dua-e-Reem (Bride’s prayer). the song represents a scene in the partition era in which Allama Iqbal’s poem “Lab Pe Aaati Hai Dua Ban Kay Tammanna Meri (My desires come to my lips like prayer)” was highly admired in India.
