Saudi Actress Maram Adulaziz has come under criticism as she suggested that prisoners should be involved in testing new medicines to deal with coronavirus.

The actress confessed her suggestion on her Twitter account. She said, “if it was up to me, I would not waste money on food and drink by imprisoning those that have been detained – especially on security grounds.

“I would make them experiments for new medication even if the results aren’t guaranteed. This would serve as punishment for them but would also benefit the state,”

She also said, “Better them than mice and monkeys who have not harmed us,”

Saudi actress Maram Abdulaziz was highly criticized due to her comments, as several people accused her of fascism.

One social media user said, “All prisoners, irrespective of charges against them, are tried according to the laws in force in the country they are in. They are lives entrusted with the authorities and not lab rats,”

Another user tweeted, Thank God these issues are not actually up to you,”

However, Maram posted another tweet in which she tried to rectify by answering questions of her followers. She said, “First of all, I have been donating stem cells for a long time and have also registered to donate my organs after death. Secondly, clinical trials require health people – this does not apply to me. Rest assured, I am not one that preaches but doesn’t practice,”

She has also deleted her initial tweet.
