Masai Mara National Park is where a video that has been shared a lot on social media came from. It shows a baby elephant being born to a mother elephant. Gabriele Como posted the video on Twitter, and more than 8 million people have watched it.
The baby elephant slides out of its mother’s womb in the 59-second video. As the baby is born, the rest of the herd stands around the mother and can be seen to be very happy.
The video also shows the first moments when the baby was trying to stand up. When the baby elephant is born, the mother is surrounded by other tuskers.
The video caption says, “An elephant gives birth in the Masai Mara reserve in Kenya.”

Some users wanted to learn more about how elephants have their babies.
“Does anyone know why there are so many elephants in the area? Someone asked, “Is it a bad thing or a good thing?”
“Poor thing was born on a hill and has to fall. “It’s interesting that the mom doesn’t lay down to give birth,” wrote another user.

The concern of the herd for the newborn brings tears to my eyes. How anyone could hunt and kill one of these majestic living creatures is beyond me. They are kinder than most people.
