An extraterrestrial lawmaker wants to tax Elon Musk heavily for space travel to encourage UK economic growth.
With Prime Minister Liz Truss in her final days in office and no obvious successor, we at the Daily Star decided to check in with our favourite space politician, Count Binface, to see what he could do to revive the UK economy.
We asked the Count, who ran against Boris Johnson for Uxbridge and South Ruislip in the 2019 General Election if he should fix UK politics.
He claims he wants to be PM, but not Conservative leader.
“Is it time for me to step in as Prime Minister and sort out this clustertruss of a nation, to undo the carnage of the last few years? Yes indeed,” he told the sources.
But when it comes to the Tory Party leader, that’s a no-go, “I’d rather be trapped in the Phantom Zone and forced to listen to Simply Red for eternity,” he told.
Politics in the UK is “in a heck of a state right now,” he says, but that’s why he’s there to fix it.
“Politics in Britain is a load of rubbish, and rubbish is right up my hyper-alley, so it’s my time to shine,” he says.
“If you want to try something new, you can’t get better than a Binocracy.”
“Basically,” he adds, ” it’s where you guys leave me to sort out the difficult stuff (i.e. total power) while you get on with gorging on Strictly Come Dancing, Premier League Football and the Bake-Off. Have we got a deal?”
Unlike Liz Truss, the Count has a political manifesto in bookstores.
He mentioned council tax to be raised on second homes and quadrupled on third properties and the £1 croissant limit.
The Count says that once he’s in charge, millionaires who want to travel into space would be taxed £1 billion per trip, a radical wealth redistribution move that will attract spacefaring tycoons like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
A few billion in taxes would assist fix the country’s finances.
He admits that there would be no room in his cabinet for vegetables. Instead, it would be carefully stored in his refrigerator.
