Cambodia’s 24-hour circus breaks a Guinness record

• An art school in Cambodia successfully staged a circus performance that lasted for 24 hours, 10 minutes, and 30 seconds.
• The circus was performed in March 2021.
• It took Guinness World Records more than a year to evaluate the evidence and validate the record, which was formally disclosed earlier this month.

An art school in Cambodia successfully staged a circus performance that lasted for 24 hours, 10 minutes, and 30 seconds, thereby breaking a Guinness World Record in the process.

When Phare Ponleu Selpak, a nonprofit art school in Cambodia, was forced to close because of the COVID-19 outbreak, the school’s administrators say they came up with the concept for the effort to break a Guinness World Record during that time.

Over the course of more than one day, the ninety performers, which included professionals from the school as well as performers from the school’s sister organisation, Phare, The Cambodian Circus, put on a show that featured a variety of acts, including magic, acrobatics, dance, clowning, music, and contortion, among other things.

The circus was performed in March of 2021; nevertheless, it took Guinness World Records more than a year to evaluate the evidence and validate the record, which was formally disclosed earlier this month.
