A man in Thailand was shocked when his wife ran away with his lottery winnings and her lover.
A lottery gave Manit 6 million baht (Rs 1.3 crore). He planned to give some of his money to a temple and have a ceremony to share the rest with his family.
Manit saw a person he didn’t know at the ceremony. When he asked his wife, Angkanarat, about him, she told him that he was her cousin.
Later, Angkanrat and that man ran away from the ceremony, taking the whole cash prize from the lottery. Manit had been married to Angkanrat for 26 years.
Police told the Daily Star that they couldn’t help Manit and Angkanarat because they never signed an official marriage certificate together, even though they have been together for 26 years and have three children.
Manit said that he didn’t know there were any problems before his wife ran away with her lover.
The police say that Manit’s son told them that he knew about his mother’s affair. He got in touch with his mom, who had moved about four hours away. He hasn’t been able to get in touch with Angkanarat since.
According to the police, Manit had given the money and all he could do was get his wife to return it.Legally, they couldn’t take back the money.
Manit eventually tried to get in touch with his wife through the local Thai media.
