Volleyball is a high-intensity sport in which both teams sweat profusely to avoid missing the ball. Friday’s match between the US-based volleyball clubs South Dakota Coyotes and Houston Cougars garnered headlines after Cougars’ player Kate Georgiades produced a spectacular save that ultimately helped her side win.
The now-viral video, which is being shared on social media, depicts Georgians attempting to prevent the ball from leaving the court. She falls into a table while attempting to do so, but manages to pass the ball to her teammates.
Despite crashing with full power into the table, she quickly recovers, returns to the court, and hits another stroke that prevents the ball from falling. Her efforts contribute to the Houston Cougars’ victory against their opponents. As soon as the squad recognises Georgiades’s passion, they embrace her in a group hug. During this historic match, Georgiades held the libero position, which is awarded to the team’s best defender.
