One of the key things that inspires a person to thrive is hope. And it is the key focus of the 6-year-old cancer patient‘s story. The doctor in charge of Manu’s care, Dr. Sudhir Kumar, tweeted the article, which will undoubtedly cause you to cry.

Manu’s statements at the beginning of the thread are incredibly moving. The first tweet reads, “Doctor, I have grade 4 cancer and will live only for 6 more months, don’t tell my parents about this.”

Dr. Kumar was surprised by the young patient’s selfless and sincere request. On the other side, the boy’s parents asked the doctor for the same thing.

As Kumar said, “’Please see him and advise your treatment, and don’t share the diagnosis to him’. I nodded my head, accepting their request. Manu, on a wheelchair, was brought in. He was referred by his #oncologist for management of seizures. He had a smile, appeared confident & smart.”

Kumar continues by describing how Manu was identified as having grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme on the left side of the brain. The courageous child, though, was more worried about his parents. He requested some one-on-one time with the doctor and urged him not to tell his parents that he was nearing the end of his life.

Read the tweet, “After parents left the room to wait outside, Manu said- ‘Dr, I have read all about the disease on iPad and I am aware that I will live only for 6 more months but I haven’t shared this with my parents, as they would get upset. They love me a lot. Please don’t share with them.”

The post continued, “Parents were in tears but they were still thankful and left OPD with a heavy heart. I had almost forgotten this incident, when about 9 months later, the couple returned to see me. I recognized them at once and enquired about Manu’s health.”

Over 529k people have viewed the content, and there have been many comments. People were astounded by the child’s bravery.

Many people stated that the post had broken their hearts.
