US Election 2020: Early voting trackers show astonishing results as pre-election voting has now crossed two-thirds of all ballots cast during the 2016 presidential election.
As per the details, more than 91.6 million people have voted so far. The majority of states are showing record early voting turnout despite the coronavirus pandemic.
These votes represent about 43% of registered voters nationwide, according to a survey of election officials in all 50 states and Washington, DC, by CNN, Edison Research, and Catalyst.
More than half of the registered voters have cast their votes in sixteen states ahead of the main day.
According to the international news agency, more than 91.6 million ballots already cast represent about 67% of the more than 136.5 million ballots cast in the 2016 presidential election.
Voting in Hawaii and Texas surpassed total turnouts from the 2016 general election. Thirty-six states, including Washington, DC, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin, Maine, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Nebraska, have crossed their halfway marks for total 2016 ballots cast.
CNN stated that about half of the votes already cast this cycle come from those 16 key states, which will play a crucial role in determining who wins the presidency this year.
