Mexico City: Yrma Lydya, a 21-year-old singer who had been attempting to get a divorce for months, was shot dead in a restaurant by her ailing husband.

Details indicate that Lydya was killed in her private room at a Japanese restaurant in Mexico City by her 79-year-old husband, Jesus Hernandez.

The incident allegedly occurred last Thursday while the folk singer was eating at the establishment. The accused is accused of shooting her three times in the chest.

Additionally, it is said that he and his bodyguard tried to escape the scene in a high-end vehicle before being pursued by police.
