World Record: Man beats his own for recapturing hot dogs
A man from Idaho asked his coworkers for help at a recent business conference in Idaho. He was trying to reclaim the Guinness World Record for the longest throw and catch of a hot dog in a bun.
David Rush held the record in 2019 when Jake Smith threw a hot dog 105 feet to David Rush, who caught it in a bun. Rush has broken nearly 250 Guinness World Records to promote STEM education. David Rush was the first person to hold the record.
In the time since, the record has been broken twice, and the most recent one is 156 feet and 2 inches.
Rush asked their coworkers at the Cradlepoint Sales Summit in Boise to help them break the record so that they would have a better chance of doing so.
Russell Phillips reportedly threw a hot dog to Rush and it landed in a bun 167 feet and 5 inches away. Rush says that this was the result of several attempts spread out over several days. By more than 10 feet, the previous record was broken.
