Cat watches football on TV and tries to catch the ball

Cats are adept hunters, capable of catching fast-moving prey. The felines’ calculated leaps at all things moving are almost instinctual. A video of this identical behaviour is now going viral.

The undated video shows a little kitten sitting in front of a television, intently watching a football match. The cat then lunges at the football as it flies into the goal. The young cat continues to do so when the goal is replayed in slow motion.

A prominent cat content account called ‘cats with jobs’ (@CatWorkers) shared a 19-second video of this charming behaviour on Twitter. This video has been seen over 6.2 million times.

Many cat owners have remarked that similar antics by cats stop being adorable until they cause property damage.
