Gray whales live in the North Pacific Ocean most of the time. National Geographic says that these animals can grow up to 15 metres (49 feet) long and weigh about 90,000 pounds.
Gray whales are known to eat many different kinds of food. They eat mostly small creatures that live in tubes in the mud and look like shrimp. These creatures are called amphipods. They also eat other animals that live in mud, like tube worms and mollusks.
