According to the Guinness World Records, the Serviço Medico-Veterinário do Municpio de Leiria and SIAC, a pet database certified by the Portuguese government, confirmed Bobi’s birth date, who was registered in the municipality in 1992.

It was born as one of four male pups in an outbuilding where the Costa family stored wood, according to the story.

It has never been shackled or leashed and has always enjoyed free roam of the woodlands and fields surrounding the property, according to his owner Leonel Costa.

“Bobi is special because looking at him is like remembering the people who were part of our family and unfortunately are no longer with us, like my father, my brother, or my grandparents who have already left this world. Bobi represents those generations”, he added.
