Karachi is likely to receive another heatwave from today, from 17th to 22nd May, according to the met department of Pakistan.

Met department predicts that Karachi can receive a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius because of heatwave if the sea breezes stop during the day.

PMD Director Sardar Sarfaraz said that hot winds blowing from the desert areas in the northwest can cause an increase in temperature. However, the weather may remain cooler in the evening and at night.

This is likely to be the second heatwave Karachi will receive this month. Before this, heatwave prevailed from 5th May to 8th May in Karachi. The heatwave comes with several challenges; in holy month of Ramadan and in the time of coronavirus pandemic.

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Sunday (today). However, rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Monday (tomorrow). However, rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.

Weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country in the last 24 hours. However, rain (mm) recorded in Parachinar 07, Chakwal 03, Sargodha and Astore 01.

Yesterday’s recorded highest Maximum Temperature’s (°C): Sh.Benazirabad 45°C, Mithi, Dadu, Chhor and Jaccobabad 44°C.
