
More rain is expected to lash the metropolis today, under the influence of the prevailing monsoon system.
According to MET office, highest temperature in Karachi will be recorded at 31-32 degrees today.
Temperature recorded in the metropolis, in the morning remained 29 degrees.
Humidity level is recorded at 88%, whereas air pressure is recorded at 9 nautical mile.
Shahra-e-Faisal was also submerged, particularly near Gora Qabristan. Rainwater was also accumulated on main Korangi Road.
The Malir and Lyari rivers and Thado Dam were stated to be overflowing.
Gulshan-i-Iqbal, particularly Block 13-D, was also inundated by rainwater. The same situation was also reported in the areas of Surjani Town, Nazimabad, etc.
Several areas of the city’s centre, Saddar, were under accumulated rainwater and gutters were seen overflowing on Zaibunissa Street, Empress Market and other places.
Parts of University Road, especially near Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, were submerged by rainwater, which caused slow movement of traffic.
Pakistan Meteorological department (PMD) official said that moderate rain with thunderstorm was expected in the next 24 hours in the city.
It should be noted that due to the intermittent rains in Karachi, the streets and roads of Karachi submerged by rainwater and also brought traffic to a halt.
