Karachi is likely to receive intense cold weather from Monday as the temperature is expected to drop below 10 Degree Celsius.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a new wave of cool weather is expected to enter the city. A ‘record-breaking’ cold wave has started and temperatures are expected to drop to the single digits.

Siberian winds will enter Karachi, leading to an intense decrease in the temperatures.

Weather update today

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Saturday (today). However, Partly cloudy weather is expected in upper areas with rain and snowfall in Gilgit- Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and north Balochistan during evening/night hours. Dense fog is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab.

A westerly wave is approaching upper and western parts of the country and may persist in upper parts till Monday.

On the other hand, cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Sunday. However, Partly cloudy weather is expected in upper areas with rain and snowfall in Gilgit- Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper/central Punjab, Islamabad and Kashmir.

Past 24-hour weather

Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while very cold in north Balochistan, northern areas, Kashmir and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Today’s Lowest Minimum Temperature’s (°C): Leh -14, Gupis, Skardu -09, Astore -08,Parachinar -05, Bagrote Kalam, Gilgit -04 and Kalat -03.
