Met Office predicts cold and dry weather to prevail in most parts of the country, however, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir will experience very cold weather in the next twelve hours.
According to the details, dense fog will blanket Punjab’s plain areas and upper Sindh.
Islamabad and Muzaffarabad one degree centigrade, Lahore three, Karachi eight, Peshawar four, Quetta minus six, Gilgit minus five, and Murree minus two-degree centigrade.
Earlier, Karachi witnessed a record-breaking cold on New Year’s morning as the mercury dropped to 5.6 degrees Celsius.
This was so far the lowest temperature recorded in 10 years in the city of lights. Before that, 6.5 degrees Celsius was the city’s lowest minimum temperature recorded in 2014, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PDM).
