Lahore, the capital of the province, experienced a tragic event when heavy rainfall wreaked havoc, leading to the death of four people and injuring many others.
For two consecutive days, the city was battered by continuous and intense rainfall, causing roofs and walls to collapse.
In a heartbreaking occurrence near the Bandianwala bridge in the Amar Sidhu area, a house suffered a roof collapse, resulting in the unfortunate loss of four lives, including three young children.
Rescue officials stated that the dilapidated roof had become weakened due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday, ultimately leading to this unfortunate tragedy.
However, amid the heartbreak, there was a ray of hope as one individual was successfully rescued from under the debris, providing a glimmer of hope amidst the devastating circumstances.
Furthermore, the capital city of Punjab saw another bout of rain, raising concerns as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued heavy precipitation warnings owing to a new weather system.
In a separate event, a section of the wall of Mozang Hospital collapsed, injuring numerous people.
The injured were immediately brought to local hospitals for medical attention.
As the province deals with the fallout from these disasters, it serves as a reminder of the critical necessity for infrastructure upkeep and readiness in the face of extreme weather.
