Weather update for Islamabad, Rawalpindi; wet spell to continue
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts additional rain and mountain snowfall in Islamabad and various regions of Pakistan throughout this week. According to the weather situation, a westerly wave is impacting the western and upper areas of the country, and it is expected to continue for the next few days.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) expects cloudy weather with rain and mountain snowfall in Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Potohar region, Upper Punjab, and Kashmir from Wednesday evening to Friday. Heavy rainfall/snowfall may occur in isolated areas of Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, Galiyat, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this period. Fog is likely in some places in Punjab and upper Sindh.
Snowfall could impact transportation on January 31st and February 1st, so tourists are advised to be cautious. Islamabad’s minimum temperature is expected to be between 7-9 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 8-10 degrees Celsius on Friday.
In the last 24 hours, most areas of the country experienced mainly cold and cloudy weather. However, there was rain with isolated snowfall in Kashmir, Islamabad, northeast/central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Karachi, Thatta, and Ormara.
