The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more rain and snow for popular tourist spots like Murree, Galyat, and others on Sunday evening/night. This is due to a westerly wave affecting most parts of Pakistan, expected to continue for the next 24 hours.

On Sunday evening/night, rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall on mountains are anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, Galyat, and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Monday and Tuesday are expected to bring rain, thunderstorms, and mountain snow in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby areas, creating freezing conditions at tourist destinations.

Snowfall could impact transportation in various places, including Murree, Galyat, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Chitral, Dir, Hunza, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Garhi Dupatta, Nuzafarabad, and Rawlakot. Tourists are advised to be cautious. Murree’s minimum temperature is forecasted to be between -03 to -01 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday.

Freezing weather was experienced at tourist sites in the last 24 hours, with rain, thunderstorms, and mountain snow in Murree, Galyat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir.

Significant rainfall (mm) was recorded in various places, including Parachinar 22, Pattan 20, Kalam 15, Balakot 14, Dir (Upper 11, Lower 06), Murree 09, Malam Jabba 08, Chitral 07, Garhi Dupatta 07, Muzaffarabad (City 07, Airport 05), Saidu Sharif 05, Astore, Skardu 05, Drosh 03, Kotli 02. Snowfall (Inches) included Kalam 07, Malam Jabba, Murree 04, Ziarat, and Parachinar 02.

Kalam was the coldest place, dropping 09 C below freezing, while Murree dropped 03 C below freezing. Tourists rushed to witness the snowfall, causing traffic congestion in Murree and the roads to Galyat and other tourist destinations.
