Due to extreme weather conditions, students in various regions are experiencing extended summer vacations this year.
Following Sindh’s lead, the Balochistan government has also extended the summer break for schools and educational institutions in the region. Classes are now set to resume on August 15, according to a directive from Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.
The extension aims to protect students from the intense heat and humidity.
Previously, the Sindh government had announced an extension of the summer break until August 14, following a warning from the Met Office about severe weather conditions.
With this update, the Sindh Education Department has confirmed that the new academic year will begin on August 15. Provincial Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah cited the severe heat and expected monsoon rains as the reasons for the extension. Schools and higher educational institutions in Sindh will also observe Independence Day on August 14.
