ISLAMABAD: The federal city enjoyed light and pleasant weather throughout the day, with expectations for cloudy skies, gusty winds, and light to moderate rainfall by late evening. Temperatures ranged from 28°C to 34°C.
Humidity levels peaked at 86%, with a 10% chance of rain and a gentle northwest breeze blowing at speeds between 20 to 26 km/h. Continuous rainfall over the past three days has led to an improvement in air quality.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers, for areas including Murree, Gilyaat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Bannu, Karam, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Nowshera, and Sawabi, as well as Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Additionally, isolated heavy rainfalls are expected from August 1 to August 5 in places such as Killaat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Lasbela, Loralai, Sibbi, Harnai, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Musa Khail, and Jafarabad.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning that heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in the lower regions of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Nowshera, and Kasur.
Earlier forecasts from the Met Office had predicted rain in isolated locations across Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday, with isolated showers expected in northern Punjab.
