Karachiites, who eagerly await the city’s brief winter, are finally experiencing a cold wave with temperatures dipping to 11°C.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the temperature is expected to remain between 10-12°C due to a combination of 36% humidity and northeasterly winds blowing at 8 kilometers per hour.
This drop in temperature follows a warning from the Met Office last week, forecasting a “mild cold wave” in Sindh with night-time temperatures between 7-9°C.
Karachi is not the only city facing changing weather conditions. In Balochistan, the mercury has dropped below zero, with Quetta recording a minimum temperature of -4°C, while Kalat saw -6°C. Other areas like Nokkundi (0°C), Gwadar (7°C), and Sibi (9°C) are also experiencing cold weather.
Meanwhile, residents of Ziarat are facing difficulties due to cold winds, frozen water pipes, and gas outages, adding to the challenges of the cold wave.
These weather changes are impacting daily life across various regions, as people brace for even colder conditions in the coming days.
