A 20-year-old man who vanished from his South Carolina employer two months ago; certainly perished after sliding into a recycling facility shredder.

Duncan Alexander Burrell-Gordon, whose last known location was at the Industrial Recovery & Recycling plant; in Greer, South Carolina, roughly 17 miles west of Spartanburg, was reported missing by his family; in the early days of May.

Rusty Clevenger, the coroner for Spartanburg County; said in a statement on Wednesday that bits of human flesh; had been discovered near the machine Burrell had been operating. According to The State, the coroner was able to determine that the dried blood matched with the missing man’s parents; after doing a DNA test on it.

The plastic shredding machine in issue has been in examination three times prior; one by the deceased man’s own father, according to the coroner; who arrived at the scene of Burrell’s last known whereabouts on 10 June; more than a month after he has been in reports as missing.

According to NBC station WYFF, Mr. Clevenger wrote, “What we have tested and was positive came from behind a support; under the conveyor belt directly after the plastic shredding machine.”

More than 60,000 pounds of plastic are in process between the time; the 20-year-old has fallen into the industrial device; which can shred metal but is usually in use on plastic, and early June.
