Malaysian authorities have won the release of a Palestinian activist kidnapped by Israeli espionage operatives for claimed ties to the armed wing of the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas.

According to the media, the Palestinian activist, a computer programmer by trade, was kidnapped in Kuala Lumpur on September 28 by Malaysian agents recruited and trained in Europe by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.

According to the story, the individual was probed by Mossad officers in Tel Aviv via video conference about Hamas and its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

“The Israelis wanted to know about his experience in computer application development, Hamas’ strength in developing software, members of the Al-Qassam Brigade that he knew and their strengths,” a source told media.

Malaysian authorities freed the victim 24 hours after his kidnapping in a sophisticated operation that included the arrest of the kidnappers.

The individual allegedly fled Malaysia a few days after his parole.

According to Malaysian media, Mossad has recruited a cell of at least 11 Malaysian nationals to track down Palestinian activists.

According to “informed Malaysian sources,” the Mossad cell was active in eavesdropping on critical facilities, including airports, and infiltrating “government electronic enterprises.”

Mossad was linked to the murder of Palestinian professor Fadi al-Batsh in Kuala Lumpur in 2018.

According to the Jerusalem Post, which reported on the abduction on Monday, the Israeli military declared during its May 2021 war on Gaza that “its policy was to target Hamas activists everywhere.”

Malaysia has no formal relations with Israel and is a supporter of the Palestinian people and their cause.
