Ukrainian legislators have proposed a law to outlaw Russian Orthodox Church activity in Ukraine.

It also bans Russian Orthodox Church-aligned religious groups.

Yesterday, Ukrainian security agents raided the Russian-backed Moscow Patriarchate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Ukrainian officials suspect “subversive Russian special services” at Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

MP Iryna Friz said the law was meant to “avoid threats to Ukraine’s national security and preserve order because for too long the ROC has conducted anti-Ukrainian and undermining activities and endorsed all actions of the criminal Russian state.”
