Californian officials mourns for disaster at Monterey Park

• Mass shooting occurred during Lunar New Year celebrations in Monterey Park.
• Governor Gavin Newsom and Senator Kamala Harris sent their condolences.
•  The violence took place during a night of celebration for the Chinese New Year.

As the full scope of the violence became apparent on Sunday, the political leadership of the state of California sent their sympathies.
