An 11-and-a-half-year sentence was handed down to a British man Daniel Harris who posted far-right videos that motivated the shooter in a mass massacre in the US.

Daniel Harris, 19, uploaded racist videos calling for the “total extermination of subhumans”, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Payton Gendron, who murdered 10 people in Buffalo, New York, shared them.

After a trial last year, Harris, who is from Glossop in Derbyshire, was found guilty of terrorism-related offences.

He must serve three years on an extended licence after being freed, in addition to serving his sentence at a facility for young offenders.

According to testimony given in court, Harris, of Lord Street, produced videos on the assassin of MP Jo Cox, the Christchurch mosque massacres, and other far-right leaders.

Between February 2021 and March 2022, the videos were posted online.

On Thursday, it was revealed that some had been posted online by Payton Gendron, who has admitted to killing 10 black individuals at a store in May.

Connections between Anderson and Harris During Harris’ trial, Lee Aldrich, the sole suspect in a mass shooting at a gay bar in Colorado, was also identified.

A website with connections to Harris’ film appeared to show Aldrich getting ready to carry out the attacks, which left five people dead and 25 hurt.

In December, Harris was found guilty on five counts of supporting terrorism and one count of having materials used in terrorism.

Judge Patrick Field KC, sentencing, said Harris “created a series of videos” where he “glorified mass murderers” and “encouraged other people to emulate them” having “provided specific instructions”.

“In these videos you expressed and repeated vile anti-Semitic, racist, misogynistic and homophobic views,” he said.

“You intended to encourage terrorism, and it’s plain that what was being encouraged was lethal, racist and anti-Semitic violence, as well as violence against the gay community.”

The court heard at the sentencing hearing on Friday that Harris began making his videos after receiving a term for damaging George Floyd’s memorial in Manchester. Floyd was killed by an American police officer in 2020.
