Tampa Airport: 4-foot boa constrictor detected in luggage
After the bag was scanned by an X-ray scanner, the snake was found.
A 4-foot boa constrictor was found in a passenger’s luggage at Tampa International Airport, according to the authorities on Friday.
The luggage’s coiled reptile was found during an X-ray inspection, according to a statement from the Transportation Security Administration.
The animal was visible in photos shared by the agency next to some shoes and what seemed to be a laptop.
The organisation declared, “Our police at Tampa International Airport didn’t think this funny!”
The organisation claims to routinely test pets, although an X-ray machine should never be used on animals. The organisation says it is up to the airline to decide whether to allow a pet on board.
A loose 15-inch ring-necked snake was reportedly left behind by a traveller in 2019 at Newark Liberty International Airport and later found close to a TSA checkpoint, according to the agency.
In a computer hard drive at Miami International Airport the year before, TSA personnel discovered a python wrapped in what seemed to be a stocking. The traveller was punished and the snake was taken away; she was travelling to Barbados.
