Oleksii Reznikov to be replaced by new Ukraine defense minister

• The head of Ukraine’s defense ministry is expected to be transferred.
• Kyrylo Budanov will lead the defense ministry.

According to the leader of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s parliamentary bloc, Oleksii Reznikov of Ukraine is expected to be transferred to another government position due to pressure from a corruption issue at his ministry.

According to David Arakhamia, leader of the Servant of the People faction, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR military intelligence agency, will lead the defense ministry.

He omitted to say when the change will become official. Reznikov remained silent for a while.

On the messaging platform Telegram, Arakhamia stated that “war dictates changes in personnel policy.”

“Times and circumstances require strengthening and regrouping. This is what is happening now and will happen in the future…The enemy is getting ready for an offensive. We are getting ready to defend ourselves and return what is ours.”
